Why should consumers choose your business or organization over the others? Have you ever really sat down and thought about it? If you had to answer this question, you would probably say that your product or service can bring more value than the competition. But what do today’s consumers really care about? Surprisingly, going hand in hand with the benefits you can provide, it’s what you stand for. Success is centered around three things – your mission statement, vision, and values. Let’s talk about what they are!
Your mission statement is what you’re doing and how you’re doing it! At Elamant, ours is “to empower the global community through high-income skills and emotional intelligence.” If you read that, not knowing who we are, you should have a better idea now. This is the purpose of a mission statement, which is why you’ll see it on most company’s websites or advertisements.
Your vision is where you are going. It’s what you hope for the future – for yourself and those who choose to work with you. Here’s an example. At Elamant, our vision is a confident, educated, and emotionally intelligent generation. And honestly, it’s something we will be working towards for many years! Each small goal that you accomplish will contribute to your vision – so even if yours is broad, like ours, remember it’s why you’re doing what you’re doing. If you put your heart into it, you’ll get there!
You know what you’re doing, how you’re doing it, and where you’re going, but it’s your values that will guide you in that direction. At Elamant, we like to refer to the famous quote, “It’s the people that make the place.” So what’s important to your people? Here are a few of our favorite company values…
Keep in mind that your values are an ongoing list. Over time, you will add to them, expand on them, or even replace them with ones that make more sense at that time!
Hopefully, with a better understanding of mission statement, vision, and values, you’ll be able to pinpoint your own! In turn, you’ll be able to market yourselves in a way your target audience can really connect with.
